Any business operating within the city Limits of Clinton is required to obtain a city business license:
Those businesses pay a fee based on the number of employees operating within the city limits. Businesses must not open or operate without obtaining a license and meeting all requirements. All new locations require an approved City inspection before open to the public.
Note: All food related business are required to pass inspection from the Health Department (660-885-8193) before opening for business.

Sec. 48-21. - License required.
It shall be unlawful for any person to conduct, pursue, carry on, or operate within the city any trade, avocation, occupation or profession without first having obtained a license in accordance with the terms of this article. Any persons found to be in violation of this article shall be deemed guilty of an ordinance violation and punished pursuant to section 1-13.

Liquor License: CITY CODE FOR LIQUOR LICENSES
The applicant must be of good moral character, a qualified legal voter and a taxpaying citizen of a city, county, town, or village of this state. The application for a liquor license provides a checklist of items required to obtain a license within our municipality. State liquor licenses are also required. State licenses are obtained from the State Division of Liquor Control.
Business must not sell alcohol until both State and City Liquor Licenses have been obtained.
