The Clinton Fire Department offers FREE smoke alarm service calls for all residents within the city limits of Clinton.
Services of this program include:
- Battery changes (battery must be provided by homeowner)
- New battery powered smoke alarm install (smoke alarm must be provided by homeowner)
- Smoke alarm function testing.
Free smoke alarms are available, upon request, to all residents of Clinton (maximum of 1 per floor of home) when smoke alarms are available and in supply.
Please note that the Clinton Fire Department does not replace hard-wired smoke detectors, only battery-operated smoke alarms. Personnel will change backup batteries (batteries must be provided by homeowner) in hard-wired detectors but cannot rewire or install hard-wired smoke detectors. To have a hard-wired smoke detector replaced, you will need to contact an electrician.
