Parks & Shelters
Artesian Park
Artesian Park is the oldest park in our system, originally served as an Artesian Springs Sulphur Water tourist attraction in the 1880s, renowned for its purported health benefits. Legend has it that the Sulphur springs met a nefarious end involving individuals with mob connections. Over the years, the Corps of Engineers has help developed the park for the city. The city has also implemented numerous upgrades and improvements, with the most recent occurring in 2022. Although there are several shelter houses available, the park also offers numerous picnic tables and grills placed throughout its lush, shaded areas.

Kids' World Playground
The latest addition to our park system is a lively playground where everyone—kids and adults alike—can have a blast, no matter their physical or intellectual abilities. This fun-filled space came to life thanks to a fantastic collaboration with the Missouri Conservation Department, Skidmore Foundation, Golden Valley Hospital, and a host of other generous folks and organizations from the Henry County area.
We kicked off the grand opening in March 2022 with loads of excitement. The park’s charming name came from the creative minds of Ms. Goucher's Henry Elementary School 2020-2021 First Grade Class
The park features soft padded flooring, slides, bridges, play houses, musical center and fun motion features.
A shelter generously donated by the Clinton Sunrise Optimist Club. The shelter includes ADA friendly picnic tables and is a great place to host a birthday party.

Martha’s Nature Trail, Est 2022, is located in Antioch Hills Park.
Covering 28 acres of generously donated land by Martha Friedmeyer, our mission was to create an outdoor space that is accessible to local underserved neighborhoods, local healthcare facilities, and schools. We have designed areas that are enjoyable, promote wellness, and offer educational opportunities, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their physical abilities, can benefit from these spaces. Moreover, this initiative contributes to the enhancement of the green areas managed by the Parks and Recreation Department.
Thanks to the partnership between the City of Clinton, the Clinton Parks and Recreation and the Missouri Department of Conservation, along with the generous contributions from local businesses and individuals, we have successfully created trails that includes ADA parking and direct access to an ADA-compliant walking path, in addition to natural trails. We have also strategically placed several benches to offer stunning views of the pecan grove, rain gardens and butterfly gardens. The main path is 1.2 miles in length. There are several cross-connecting paths that wind through the 28 acres that can increase the length of the trail to just over 2 miles.
